It’s hard to believe at first, that a bunch of red balloon’s were the inspiration behind Contractuary.com; A site developed to provide a platform for actuarial professionals to do business with potential contractors. Yet, it’s even harder not to be even slightly intrigued by the madness of this idea. Balloons… actuaries…. They just don’t seem to fit.
However, the creators of Contractuary.com will have you realise otherwise. Owing their inspiration to the charitable efforts of a group of American researchers; who in an attempt to test the power of social networking set about offering people monetary rewards for finding red balloons that were hidden across the state of Massachusetts. In a unique attempt to engage a wider audience, the researchers offered a sliding scale reward system that enabled people to refer their friends to the network and earn a percentage of the reward if those friends found the balloons also.
Contractuary.com was developed to provide a free to use platform that enables actuarial professionals to search for contract role options and network with potential employers. However, even greater than this, is the red balloon concept that has been integrated to enable actuarial professionals to refer their contractor friends and earn commission in the process. So, not only does Contractuary.com offer a free, safe and secure portal for identifying potential job roles; it also allows you to run your own referral fee business in the process.
