Last week saw Contractuary’s CEO, David Crawford, set sail across the UK, to meet with actuarial professionals across the country.

Starting in Edinburgh, David met with a major global life insurer for lunch. The client was so impressed with the Contractuary concept that they signed up straight away, ready to offer contractors the opportunity to undertake roles in Poland – due to their European expansion!

The successful lunch was followed by an equally successful dinner date at Gusto, on George Street. David met with around 10 actuarial professionals, all of whom enjoyed a fabulous meal and interesting discussions. Many actuaries were keen to share their knowledge and opinion on the advance of Solvency II, with a lot of topical issues raised. As the night drew to a close, David secured 6 new contracts with top actuarial employers – an excellent end, to an excellent day!

The next day, David, accompanied by girlfriend Libby, packed up his camper van and headed south to York. The couple met with more contractors, treating them to dinner in Saffron Desi. Another great night was had by everyone involved, with David being delighted to finally get the opportunity to network with the professionals who bring his service to life.

David’s last stop was possibly his fondest – Manchester, where he had previously spent years as a student. Here he met with 10 contractors at Wagamamas – Printworks, for lunch. Again, proving to be another very successful meeting of minds; 5 new contractors signed up to the service – most of who are heavily involved in Solvency II matters.

All in all, the trip was a roaring success. From beginning to end and from the top to the bottom of the country, David engaged with actuarial professionals, sealed contracts, had a laugh and made a lot of new friends and contacts. His two-man camper van stood proudly by him as he travelled the length and breadth of the country with a loyal Libby by his side.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came along and made it possible. Stay tuned for more information, and future Contractuary events (coming soon).
